Back at the 'brook

It has come to my attention that my lack of posting as of late is quite a sin. But, hey, can I help it if nothing has happened to me in the last few weeks?

(OK, maybe I'm just lazy)

After days upon days of doing lots of glorious nothing, Middlebrook welcomed me back with open arms. Tori, bless her soul, had a fudge pie waiting for us, which we ate while I listened to stories of breaks more interesting than mine. Karli's rumor about Tori and Preston breaking up proved to be true, but even better news: he is GONE! He moved out on Saturday (without even telling Tori, which provoked her to leave a nasty messageon his phone). But of course none of this stopped her from staying out all night with Eric last night (Karli, I'm sure you're elated about this). And she plans to go to London over spring break to visit Jack, the guy her friend Felicia introduced her to over break, who is studying there. Silly me, I shouldn't have expected anything different.

It's true, everything is the same. I came into the room and everything felt completely in order, aside from the fact that my Matisse poster fell down, our phone is broken (probably the universe's way of telling me to get a cell phone already) and the plant deemed unkillable by Tori's grandma had spent the break being roasted by the heater.

Oh! And Chris has a new haircut, and a new roommate. I haven't met him yet, but I hear just being introduced to him makes you really miss Timmers. Damn him for going to Australia; I miss him already! Melanie, too, who is in Spain and had better send pictures.

Classes started today. My Tuesday schedule is kind of weird in that I wake up for my Linguistics discussion at 9 (pointless to have woken up for today, btw), but I don't have class again until 2:30. I used this gap to take a nice nap and eat a long lunch with David, who I haven't seen for 3 weeks.

At 2:30 I went to English 3001W Textual Analysis--exciting name, eh? Because it's the first required class for English majors, I was surprised to see a whole lot of 3rd, 4th and 5th year students. The professor was impressed at my freshman status. My professor is great--young, in her 30's. Her name is Sabine and she's German. The class basically consists of reading only 3 things, then analysing to all hell. I'd better come up with some opinions damn quickly, because she says she's all for boisterous arguments during class. We'll see how that goes.

More tomorrow.
