Good Lord, I've written a novel!

My arm is in a sling. For the last 6 weeks or so, my shoulder has been mysteriously sore. The "backpack-putting-on-jacket-taking-off" muscle, specifically. I finally got it checked out on Friday (after almost passing out with a simple motion like tossing my backpack over my shoulder). It seems my rotator cuff is inflamed. Which, the doctor noted, is crazy. I don't play any sports, and I'm not 80!
So now I'm really concerned about being old. I don't want to be that whiny old person who hurts all the time. I want to be spry. I want to turn cartwheels when I'm 80. And I don't want my arm to fall off between then and now. So I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow; we'll see.

This weekend was a good time. After my doctor visit on Friday, Jenna braved driving in the snowstorm to get me back to Middlebrook. We got at least 7 inches of sparkly snow. David called asking for a shovel, and I thought he was going to fulfill his goal of shoveling the Washington Avenue Bridge. The bridge got shoveled, but not by David. Tori, Lindsey, Damon, Dan and I ran through the snow over to Coffman for midnight breakfast and a belly dancing lesson (which I would've looked ridiculous at anyway, but with one arm it was outrageous). We ran screaming back through the cold and ended the night with some hot chocolate.

On Saturday Kris, Chris, Lindsey and I had some dinner at East Bank Chipotle (supposedly it's better?) and listened to some Joe Pesci rap. I finally got my Christmas present from Chris--Lindsey and I named him "Charboil, the Cardboard Crusader." It's a little robot guy and he's defending my desk as we speak. Later, everybody went to Karli's brother's party (minus Karli herself, who was at a high school dance with Paul--so pretty!) I headed over to Sanford to hang out with Roman, Brady, Mike and Jenna. We harassed Mike's sister, ate at Annie's Parlor (mmm) and watched "Abre Los Ojos," the original Spanish version of Vanilla Sky.

Classes today were good. I'll have to remember to sit in the front for my Linguistics class--my professor is this tiny, quiet little Indian woman and I'm going to zone out at 9 in the morning if I'm not right up front. I love my Shakespeare professor; class today was awesome. She's enthusiastic, and listens to her students (people wanted to slow down the class a bit and she obliged). The lecture was great--she adds a little history into the mix, which I love. Lunch with Brady, Mike and Roman--much of it spent telling Roman he's a wonderful person just the way he is (but meaner, actually).

Drawing=nice. For someone with ADD, I could sit and do tedious drawing projects (like this one, which involved cutting out tiny pieces with shitty scissors) for hours without losing my mind. Except for the music. No headphones allowed, so we had to listen to this one kid's crappy 70's high school slow dance music for 3 hours. Gah. But my picture is going to be pretty--Rachael, you will especially enjoy it.

Spaghetti for dinner, so for once my stomach is satisfied and ready to study.
