My Crazy Week
Alright, I'm finally sitting down and updating this. Seriously, if you're looking for the entertaining blogs, you should be reading Rachael's or Brady's.
I've kind of been laying low (at home) for the past week or so. Last Thursday I went in for a biopsy of the tumor in my shoulder. That was a blast. But I'll just give you the highlights:
1) They gave me a nerve block so I would lose complete sensation in my arm. This involved jabbing me with a needle in my neck 87 times looking for the right nerves to kill. The cool part was when they hit it, my arm would move all by itself. It was also cool to wake up with an arm that was basically dead and useless, and entertaining to poke when I was all loopy from anesthesia. Which brings us to:
2) My experiences waking up from anesthesia gives us a rare glimpse into the world of what Drunk Emily would be like. Basically, she just talks. To whoever will listen. About whatever comes into her head. For hours and hours. I'm surprised my parents didn't videotape me.
3) When you're sick, suddenly your family turns into a group of people who will do stuff for you, get stuff for you, basically dote on you for days on end. Of course, they're also so afraid you'll be cracked in half that you must be supervised and assisted with the simplest of tasks--i.e. hair washing and shoe tying. I've been having serious childhood flashbacks. My daddy even read me a story when I was dizzy because of all the drugs I was on.
4) Don't ever let me forget how wonderful all of you are--all of my friends and family. Everyone who called and e-mailed and prayed and made a beautiful collage on my door (I wish I could figure out how to post a picture of it)--I love you I love you I love you! Karli's boyfriend--I'm talking about you, too.
5) The biggest highlight, of course, is that my tumor is benign and they're just going to take it out and it will be ok. I'm not sure when they're doing that yet (I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to figure that out).
So, it's been a crazy week. But it's getting back to normal. I went to all my classes this week (except drawing which I have to drop because my dominant arm is rather incapacitated). I'm definitely ready to get back to school, though. It's weird to be home and still be homesick.

Emily, dear. I had no idea things we so serious. I'm glad everything is okay now. Plus, I'm going to be sending you a present soon. Could you give me your address at school? Feel better soon.
