shuffling along
Yep, it's time for an update.
Things are good--I'm back in class this week (even though I'm still at home) and I've gotten out to do some social things so it feels a little less like all I do is sit around my house. I got to see people last week! I went to Acme, hung out at AKPsi with Danielle, Jenna, Lauren and Vicky which was awesome. I came back to school Sunday night so I could get to class Monday morning and got to see school people--Tori, David, Steve and everyone.
I'm a little behind in school but not overwhelmingly so. More overwhelming is all the other stuff I'll have to take care of in the coming weeks. Meeting with my English advisor, registration, declaring my Spanish major, taking my Spanish test, research papers in both English classes. I find out if I get that summer teaching job on Friday, and if I don't get it (probable) I'm going to have to go find another one.
I studied damn well yesterday and was quite proud of myself. I read Macbeth and 3 chapters of linguistics, plus went over the rest of the terms for my exam this morning. While I was at the library I also glanced at a few articles because I need to write a prospectus for my research paper this week. Gah.
More about the rain today and my meeting with my Shakespeare professor later...

If your research paper has anything to do with linguistics, check out the ideas in "Metaphors We Live By," by George Lakoff. He's got another good one called "Moral Politics." Despite the sound of the titles, he's a world famous linguist.
