A lengthly post about two fantastic days

Today was beautiful--in fact, it was "Beautiful U Day." What this meant for me was a free picnic lunch with Tori and Karli (and briefly, David) on the mall to the accompaniment of the singing Jesus guy. Beautiful. Quite in contrast to yesterday, where the mall was swarming with people in bright yellow shirts reading "Save General College," news helicopters and posters plastered on every available surface featuring a sinister picture of President Bruhiniks with a giant axe.

Last night was lovely. Danielle and I had a Duffy's pizza dinner before her Spanish class, AND Karli, Tori and I had an Arby's/O.C. party later on. Karli announced at 11 that she planned to go to sleep, but we kept her up chatting for at least another hour.

I registered for classes today, also. Spanish never ceases to be a pain in the ass, but I am at last registered for 3015. My schedule looks like this (not awful, but not as awesome as Karli's Mondays AND Fridays off):
Monday
Spanish 8-9:55
British Lit 10:10-11
Creative Writing 1:25-3:20
Tuesday
Brit Lit 9:45-11
Art History 11:15-12:30
Creative Writing 2:30-3:45
Wednesday
Spanish 8-9:55
Thursday
Brit Lit 9:45-11
Art History 11:15-12:30
Friday
Off

I met with my linguistics project group after Textual Analysis today. Two of the three others showed up, and they are very nice. Things moved slowly, but we got everything worked out for our presentation on the "northern cities vowel shift." And as an added bonus, my talented group members taught me how to count to ten in both Hindi and Malay. I felt accomplished.

My joyful evening was punctuated by watching O.C. with Tori, Ice cream social (OH GOD) and trekking over to Coffman for night one of the film festival with Chris and Lindsey (who I simply don't spend enough time with!) We caught the end of "Toast," a hilarious film about a modern day Jesus, and "Laid: A Sexumentary" featuring some of Steve's ninth floor friends, a guy Lindsey dated briefly and Ren (who I miss!) 'Twas a good time.

I have a random question. My sister wants to start an Environmental society at her school. Las Vegas schools recycle, but her's doesn't. Do you have any suggestions on how she should go about this?
