Vamos a Bolivia!
It was a dark and stormy night (hackeneyed expression courtesy of Brady). Everclear was performing for free behind Coffman, and we just had to be there. We sat through rain, a terrible comedian, two terrible bands and a bunch of seventies music blasting through the speakers before Everclear came on, and they were...not that great. I remembered why I'm not a huge fan of concerts, though. I am small, and people tend not to see me and step on me and back up into me. And I can't see anything. But it was fun to spend it with Brady, Roman, Anne, Sara, Jim, David, Andy and Andy's new girlfriend, Andrea, who is very cute.
I declined going to see The Blend at AKPsi, though, because it had been a rather long day. I've lost count of how many times I've missed seeing them.
This weekend was Spring Jam, so despite the fact that I stayed at home Friday night after physical therapy (went to Big Bowl with Dad and the brothers, then came home and watched a couple hours worth of Bill Nye the Science Guy DVDs I got from the library), I came back to campus Saturday morning.
I joined Tori and Eric for lunch at Big Ten. It was nice to actually get to know Eric. I've heard stories and I did meet him briefly once, but I never got to spend some quality time with my roommate's boyfriend. And you know what? I finally approve. After a long year of Jesse's and Preston's, I am finally enthusiastic about this relationship. And speaking of roommate's relationships, Karli and Paul celebrate their two year anniversary today. I love Paul. They are so cute; I love it.
Tori, Eric and I spent too long eating, though, and missed seeing Lindsey perform with the Middlebrook team in the Ballyhoo dance competition. That was really disappointing because I'm pretty sure they won. After that we went over to Karli's brother Ryan's house (my first time meeting him too, despite the stories). We played split with him and his roommates. And I won! But sore loser Ryan disqualified me because I wasn't drinking. But we all know the truth.
From Ryan's we hiked over to AKPsi, where they were Spring Jamming in full force. Bands playing, people stumbling around who had been drunk since 9 AM. A beautiful sight. But I got to chill with Kevin, Brady, Roman and Danielle, so it was a good time.
Sunday was lovely as well. Slept in, had a nice breakfast with Lindsey and Tori. Worked on my research paper (though I got very little accomplished...) Elizabeth and I went to mass at the Basilica. We had been talking on the way there about how we should go somewhere in Latin America to use our Spanish, do some good (and bring Renee). Well, we get to church and who's giving the homily but a bishop from Bolivia who started a college for the poor campesinos. We talked to him after mass, and to his secretary who said that they are definitely in need of volunteers to come down and help. And it was so weird because we had JUST talked about it.
Today: Research paper, Melanie comes home
Take my music survey!
