Salvador, Cecelia...meet Eduardo

Well, it's summer now--officially since I finished my class on Friday. All in all, it was a fantastic class. Worth getting up at 7 every day and sitting still for 3 hours in May. Which says something. The class was called "Jesus in History" and I'd recommend it to anyone who goes to the U, and to anyone who doesn't, I'd recommend the reading list (which I'll supply to anyone who asks).

Today was graduation parties for John Cooney and David Julien. Both parties were lovely and I'm very proud of those boys. Their Quiz Bowl team went to nationals in Chicago last weekend and went 6-4, which is also incredible.

Tomorrow's plan is to do something about my state of unemployment--I just don't think being a worthless lump all summer suits me. Or at least, I'd rather it didn't. Because if I don't start doing something productive, that leaves me with the unpleasant reality of having to sit around my house every day thinking about how I should be doing my physical therapy. I have this new contraption, which I refer to as Eduardo to make it seem less medieval and torturous, which I strap my arm into and tighten until it bends my arm so far in a direction it doesn't want to go that it goes completely numb.

Emilia! Nice to have you back on the Internet. Did your Jesus in History class include some treatment of the Nag Hammadi forgotten gospels discovered in 1945? There are two fabulous translations of the Gospel of Philip and the Gospel of Mary Magdalene available by Jean-Yves Leloup that Catherine and I just finished reading. Pass this info along to Emilia's Dad. I think that he would also be interested. Give my best to Eduardo.
