My little corner of the world

Here's a lovely picture of my neighborhood.

The other picture is a sign appearing in the window of the sandwich shop down the street. When I saw it, I wept, and not because I felt bad about the owners family emergency, or because I really wanted a sandwich.

It's been a nice, solid Monday and Tuesday. Chinese food always makes life a little better, which is why I was delighted when I looked up to see Karli standing at the bottom of the stairs, staring at me yesterday evening (OK, I was a little freaked out at first). "Are you hungry?" she asked me. "Yes..." "Village Wok?" "Yes!" So we walked out to catch the bus, and there was Tori getting off, so we dragged her along too. We had a nice dinner, and of course, there were leftovers to look forward to for lunch today.

Classes, classes. Nobody really wants to hear about that. I turned in a bunch of study abroad paperwork in today, got some hideous passport pictures taken. That was a success.

Gilmore Girls night at my place tonight. Danielle came over and Tori joined us (yes, she is officially hooked). I'm pissed at the Gilmore Girls people though, because once again we got no new information they didn't introduce last week. I hate how the show has gotten more plot driven than random, and they can't even get through a plot point in an episode but feel they need to drag it out. Even the O.C. is more skilled than that. Bah.

Danielle stuck around afterward and we continued planning our Europe extravaganza. We found cheap plane tickets and finalized where we're going to go. I'm just so excited.

When you're feeling your next Asian Food Jones and looking for some adventure and exotic travel, take a trip over to the West Bank and try a meal at K-Wok next to the bank on the corner of Riverside and Cedar. I recommend anything from the Indonesian selection.
