Study Abroad
Day 23
February 9th, 2006
4:47 PM

This week was tiring, but it seemed pretty short (considering Monday was curtailed considerably). I had three papers due this week (actually, all on Monday and Tuesday) which kind of wore me out. My favorite thing about the classes here is that all the U of M students need their classes to be “writing intensive” so we get two chances to finish each of our papers. We hand them in, they get corrected and we hand them back in. And if you’re AWESOME like my Linguistics teacher, you get three chances!

This weekend Danielle and Amy are going to visit their friend Megan who is studying in Montpellier, France. She’s staying with a family there and they’re letting Amy and Danielle crash there, too. I’m quite jealous. Danielle and I have been going over the handful of French phrases we learned from David before we left—I expect Danielle to teach me more when she returns.

Robin and I have our art history class at the Prado tomorrow. We leave here at 1:30 and get back around 6. Saturday Robin and I are taking a day trip to Cuenca to see the casas colgadas. Sunday: catch up on school-work.

Highlights of the week:
1) Tales of J.J. slipping cartoon-like in “homeless person vomit” in Rome.
2) Mail from my roomies!
3) Tacos for lunch today!

I'd think tacos wouldn't be such a big deal in Spain. Oh well. I'll give three cheers for tacos any day. ROCK ON! TACOS!

Aha, don't confuse Spanish food with Mexican. Spanish food is famous for being incredibly bland, so spicy tacos were very welcome to our taste buds.

I apologize. My culinary knowlegde is quite limited considering all I eat is rotten lettuce and goldfish crackers.

Sounds like a good balance.
