Study Abroad
Day 44
March 2nd, 2006
11:04PM
Today’s Highlights:
-Officially done with midterms. Heck yes. All of the last four were easy, which was nice. The toughest part was having to finish the 5 page paper for Culture AND study for the midterm. But somehow I got it all done. And now I’m free.
-Earlier today I was walking up the street to the grocery store, and the square in front of it (and the theatre) was full of people—policemen, news cameras. We were walking up that street later tonight and we figured out why—the king was here in town! King Juan Carlos I, to be exact. And we peeked through the crowd and saw him, and he waved! At us! It was like he recognized us. There was definitely a connection there (ok, the last 3 sentences MAY have been blatant lies).
-Last night while perusing the selection of videos on youtube.com, I discovered a magical thing. The last five new episodes of Gilmore Girls (not including the one from this past week) were posted! And I MAY have stayed up late watching them, even though I had a 9AM midterm this morning. But it was worth it. And word has definitely spread that I’ve found this out—at least 3 girls showed up in my room to watch it before dinner today.
Today’s Lowlights:
Poor Robin and Kelly. They thought they only had to move out of their room for a couple hours while the fumigated yesterday, but they’re out for the week. They had to pick up and move right in the middle of midterms and everything! Plus nobody told them to take all of their stuff with them, so now all of their clothes are filled with toxic fumes and have to be washed. They’ve only been moved down the hall for a day, but I miss them!
