Thursday with no night class...!
All righty--here's an update on my academic life (just so you don't worry I'm slacking off):
This semester I am taking 17 credits.
A class entirely about the class DON QUIXOTE.
A class entirely about the poetry of PABLO NERUDA.
A continuation of last semester's child psychology, ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY.
A continuation of last semester's EXPLORING TEACHING 1 credit class.
An online course about TEACHING MEDIA STUDIES.
INTRO TO CHICANO LIT (my professor is really white though...I'm disappointed)
Mostly it will be reading, but there aren't even that many papers assigned. I'll have some big ones due at the end of the semester (so don't bug me in early May) but the day-to-day work shouldn't be too overwhelming. I am pleased. I also managed to achieve NO NIGHT CLASSES which is incredibly good news. And I'm working 10 hours a week. And volunteering on Friday afternoons (haven't decided where yet...maybe Henry? Definitely a high school this time).
And there you have it.
In other news I ran into my oldest friend Val today (since kindergarten!) at the bus stop and I did what I always do with Val--talk nonstop and giggle a lot. She just got back from Toledo so she had a ton of stories. Plus I don't think I've seen her in person since high school graduation...wow. She actually looks the most like she did in kindergarten in a long time since her hair is cut short (well, in kinder. it was a bowl cut and now it's a fauxhawk, but whatever). It's nice to have her back in town.
And, lastly (and I'll probably rant more about this later), O.C. sucked again. They'd better pull it together before the end on Feb. 22nd, or I'll be further convinced they should have ended it last year.
