a sub-zero weekend
Week 3 of the semester has come and gone. I think I'm only counting because of the sub-zero temperatures, which have turned this old house into an igloo.
Anyway, this week I had classes (though fewer than usual as my Chicano Lit professor failed to show up...twice). I worked (and played Guitar Hero). Friday I headed over to Plymouth for babysitting, dinner with the family and a chance to see Billy "Billy Basoon" Mullaney as Henry David Thoreau and Jim "Jimma C." Christensen as Ralph Waldo Emerson in Armstrong High School's winter show. Wow.
Back home on Saturday to find all three boyfriends over, plus about 80 prospective renters tramping through the house. Andy, Andrea and her friend Angela picked me up for a celebratory lunch at Famous Dave's. Danielle, David, Brady, Steve and Jeremy were also there, and we heard tell of how the ring Andy got Andrea was too big. It was quite glorious.
Arrived back at home to find it empty, so I watched a little of "The Office." Tori, Nate (boyfriend), Megan, Sam (brother) and I went out for "Jucy Lucys" at Matt's. We ranted about the "strategic positioning" at the U, especially in regards to admissions (Megan's sister got waitlisted here too). Megan's parents met up with us after they saw a taping of "A Prarie Home Companion."
The plan was to head over to see dueling pianos at a St. Paul restaurant, but I kind of ruined the fun by having a July birthday. Boo. But we did run into Jackie Stahlmann while eating some cake at the coffee shop next door.
Sunday=homework. Mostly reading of Don Quixote. And laundry day. And not going outside. Megan walked down the block to Muddsuckers to study, but came home so frozen that the hot chocolate didn't seem worth it. Not looking forward to tomorrow morning...

What were you celebrating at the "celebratory lunch"?
Hey, I was there, too.
I am SO sorry Jared! That's what happens when you sit at that little penninsula part of the table.
