Beginnings and Ends
The last two weeks of school are kicking my ass. 40 pages of writing due, most of them in Spanish. I'll talk to you on May 8th, basically.
On the upside, I got a fantastic job for this summer. I went through a nanny agency and they had a family in mind for me immediately. It turns out to be a great fit--a lot of weird connections (i.e. the kids go to Language Immersion, the parents work with Mrs. Hahn). And they live 1.55 miles from my parents' house, which is not that convenient if I'm living in Minneapolis, but still weird, no? The girls (8 and 12) are adorable, and I think it will be a good summer.
I'm a little sad, because Megan leaves for Bolivia and basically moves out in a couple of weeks. Tori plans to do the same (except replace Bolivia with Wisconsin). Am trying not to take it personally, but I do wonder. Melanie's friend Cassie will move into Megan's room, Tori's will be empty. Mom, I'm going to need that microwave now...

We wonder too. How could they possibly make such sacrifices - leaving wonderful place to live AND your sparkling companionship!??
