immersion graduates: where are they now?
Sorry for the lack of interesting postage lately, but the end of the semester is looming.
I will share one exciting tidbit from my life's events, though. It all kind of snowballed. About a week ago I got an invitation to attend Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion school's 20th anniversary party in May. That in itself is exciting, actually. I'd been meaning for awhile to use Facebook as a tool to send out a survey to RSI graduates to see what everyone is up to, Spanish-wise. Well, the buzz around the party seemed like as good a time as any, so I built a survey online and sent it to everyone in the Language Immersion Facebook group.
Well, I got an incredible response. I've heard from 150 people so far from almost 10 graduating classes. Word got around to John Mellgren, who is a couple of years older than I and whose mother used to teach at RSI about 10 years ago. John told his mom about my survey, and she e-mailed me saying that she was amazed how similar my survey was to one she planned on administering at the reunion. She wanted the survey results for an academic paper she's working on about Language Immersion schools, and would I like to help her with the project? If I did, she said, she would name me co-author on this paper (though all I would have to do is turn my survey results into her) and then I would be published. Heck, yeah! was my answer to all this, so now I am an official data-gatherer for this project. It's pretty exciting!
If you'd like to take a look at the survey (and if you're a RSI graduate please respond to it!) follow this link:

That is so cool! And your survey is well-designed.
I hope so...living in a house with 2 psych majors will make you wonder if you know anything about validity/reliability.
Your a natural for gradual school!
Any thoughts on your looming thesis?
Please, let me just get through this semester first.
