It really is all about the sticker
I voted already. I put my absentee ballot in the mail yesterday. I have work/class from dawn until dusk on Tuesdays, so I figured I'd better vote in advance. There's a girl in my cohort, Rebecca, who works for Ramsey County elections, so she hooked us up. It might seem nice to be able to vote from the comfort of your own home (and I was able to look up profiles of school board candidates online as I filled in the bubbles), but it was sort of anti-climactic--no trip to the polls, no little old lady election officials, no "I voted" sticker. Plus, now I've made all my decisions, and I still have to watch the attack ads and endless political coverage on TV. Rebecca did promise to bring a roll of "I voted" stickers to class on Tuesday, though, so I suppose it evens out.

Out here in the boonies we have always received our paper ballots in the mail about 4 weeks before the election. We've already voted too.
You're right. It's not the same as going to the booth. I think they should send a sticker with the ballot - absentee or otherwise...
